UPDATE: Razer Tartarus V2 causes game to crash since the new patch, installing from GoG because of the new patch now corrupts the launcher that the game will not run from launcher, I think it's really pathetic for hardware to completely make a game in operative which never ever had any issues what so ever before to all of a sudden now be a major issue with the launcher, I can however run the game direct from the stellaris. This is not GoG's problem, none of my other PI games have any issue running so this is Paradox Interactive's issue and their non-existent help for a game issue they caused and their response has been useless and leads to frustrated disappointment. So, if it's not fixed in the next few weeks, I'll be asking for a full product refund back to my bank and will never own a working copy of the game, sad really because I like the game and wish to play it. I spent 2 days going over and running all of them but guess which is the ONLY game that refuses to run, yeah Stellaris after the 3.3.2 update and everything they suggested I do did not work at all and when they get to the notion of pulling out peripherals to make a game run, I was like WOW that's your great solution, why should I have to when this was never an issue before. Yet from the many forums since 3.3.2 patch, it has been a sheer nightmare for some of us trying to even get the game to run, in my dxdiag this is repeated over and over nearly 10 times I've paid quite a fair bit of money $$$ for this product and they refuse to even acknowledge there is a problem to even want to fix it. Experiment and choose the best one for you!Īnyway, thank you for reading this article.Since the previous and new update, the game doesn't even run, CTD within a second of starting, I have had the informal pleasure of dealing with their help and well nothing they suggested worked what so ever, when I try to reinstall the game, it fails at 97% then I have to restart the GoG client, repair/verify and then it installs the rest of the game, but that doesn't fix the issue. Once the game launched, go alt tab and look at the HOI4.exe window name. Choose the one that works the best for you and restart the game. Under the graphics > renderer section, you will see HOI4 Directx9, Directx11, and OpenGL. So, in launcher choose the HOI4 and go to game settings. Because you cannot change graphic renderer in-game. In order to switch between DirectX 9 and 11 in HOI4, you should first run the paradox launcher. If you don’t, eventually game-related problems will knock your doorstep. You should always update your windows, graphics cards, and DirectX. If that is the case, you can return to DirectX 9 and enjoy the game problem free.īut I wouldn’t blame the DirectX 11 for those problems. Paradox Launcher Follow The Paradox Launcher v2 doesn't work Bootstrapper error / Couldn't start launcher How do I uninstall a game from the Paradox Launcher Javacript error when starting launcher My Mods or Playsets are not showing up in the Launcher. That might cause graphical glitches, random crashes, or unexplainable freezes. The Paradox Launcher is our client platform for playing and enjoying our games. However, your drivers may be outdated or whatever. HOI4 DirectX 9 vs 11 comparison always ends up in DirectX 11 winning. Since DirectX 11 is the newest technology, I recommend you choosing it. As I have told you before, graphics really not that impactful on HOI4.
